Community Rules
Last updated September 5, 2026
These rules apply everywhere Syllbi members create or share content: guides you author or suggest additions to, and your profile. They exist so Syllbi stays useful and safe for people trying to find their next film, album, game, or book. They apply alongside, and don't replace, our Terms of Service.
1. Illegal or exploitative content
Don't post content that's illegal, or that sexualizes or endangers minors, in a guide or profile. We remove this immediately and may report it to the relevant authorities where required.
2. Harassment and threats
No personal attacks, threats, or targeted harassment of another member, whether in a guide's description or a work suggestion's note. Debate the work, not the person.
3. Hate
No content that attacks or demeans someone based on a protected characteristic such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
4. Impersonation and misrepresentation
Don't use a username, avatar, or profile that impersonates another person, a brand, or Syllbi staff, or misrepresents your affiliation with a guide, work, or creator.
5. Private information
Don't post someone else's private or identifying information, such as an address or phone number, without their consent, in any guide or profile.
6. Spam and manipulation
Don't use guide descriptions or work suggestions to advertise unrelated products, services, or accounts. Sharing your own guide is fine if it's relevant to the discussion. Don't use fake accounts or coordinated activity to inflate likes, follows, or suggestions.
7. Stolen or plagiarized content
Guides should reflect your own curation and writing. Don't copy another member's guide structure or descriptions wholesale and republish it as your own.
8. Be specific, not just enthusiastic
"This is great" helps no one build a better guide. In a guide description or note, say what worked, what didn't, and what it's like compared to something else.
9. Tag spoilers
If a guide note reveals a plot twist, ending, or major reveal, put [spoilers] at the start of the note.
10. Content ownership
You own what you post. Posting a public or unlisted guide grants Syllbi the right to display it as part of the Service, per our Terms of Service. You can delete your own guides at any time.
11. Reporting and enforcement
You can report a guide or a profile directly from the app. Reports are reviewed by us directly, and there's no automated or peer-moderation system yet, and no in-app status update once you've filed one. Depending on severity, we may remove content, or suspend or terminate the account responsible.
This document is a good-faith template describing what Syllbi actually does. It is not legal advice, and hasn't been reviewed by an attorney — have one review it before relying on it for compliance purposes.
