Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Syllbi. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement and that you're not barred from using the Service under the laws of your jurisdiction.

2. Your account

One account covers both the app and syllbi.com. You can sign up with email and password, or with Google or Apple sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

3. Your use of the Service

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app and website for their intended purpose: building and following guides and tracking progress. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service itself.

4. Your content

You own the content you create: guides, diary entries, notes, ratings and axis tags, and work suggestions. By posting content that's visible to others, such as a public or unlisted guide or a profile field, you grant Syllbi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service (for example, showing a public guide in Discover and search). This license ends when you delete the specific content or your account, except for copies already made in normal backups, which age out on our usual retention schedule.

Guides reference third-party creative works (films, albums, games, books, and similar) for discussion and recommendation purposes. Cover art and metadata are sourced from public and commercial catalog APIs at authoring time (see our Acknowledgements page); we don't claim ownership of the underlying works or their artwork.

5. Reporting and removing content

If you believe a guide or profile violates these terms, our Community Rules, or your intellectual property rights, you can file a report from within the app. Reports are reviewed by us directly; there's no automated or peer-moderation system yet. If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on Syllbi without authorization beyond fair recommendation/discussion use, contact us using the address listed in the app with a description of the work, its location on Syllbi, and your contact information, and we'll investigate and remove infringing content where appropriate.

6. Things you cannot do

You agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, or that sexualizes or endangers minors.
• Harass, threaten, or target another member through a guide or profile.
• Post hate speech directed at a person or group based on a protected characteristic.
• Impersonate another person, brand, or Syllbi itself, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Post someone else's private or identifying information without their consent (doxxing).
• Spam guide suggestions or profile fields, or use automated means (bots, scraping) to access the Service beyond normal use.
• Post plagiarized or stolen guide content, or otherwise infringe someone else's intellectual property.
• Manipulate likes, follows, or suggestions through fake accounts or coordinated inauthentic activity.
• Attempt to bypass account, security, or rate-limiting controls.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the app's account settings; deletion is immediate and permanent. We may suspend or remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts, that violate these terms or the Community Rules, with or without notice, depending on severity. Sections 4 (your content's license, to the extent already granted), 9 (disclaimers), 10 (limitation of liability), and 11 (governing law) survive termination.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Syllbi harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Disclaimer of warranty

Syllbi is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that guide content (including third-party metadata) is complete or accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Syllbi is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and any dispute not resolved informally should be brought in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
